Tony and Paulie were sitting in the back room of the club, discussing their latest marketing strategy for their many businesses.
Tony: “I don’t know, Paulie. I think we should focus more on digital marketing. Everyone’s on their phones these days.”
Paulie: “Are you kidding me, Tony? Digital marketing has its place but you can’t hold it in your hand, feel the weight of it. It’s not the same.”
Tony: “But Paulie, it’s cheaper and you can reach a wider audience.”
Paulie: “Yeah, but so what? We’re not selling peanuts here. We’re selling something much more valuable. We need multiple touch points. We need emails and ads and websites. And we need PRINT!
We need to make sure our message is heard loud and clear, and there’s nothing louder than a good old-fashioned print!
Tony: “I see your point, Paulie. But what about the cost? You know we’re heading towards a recession.”
Paulie: “Are you kidding me? Print is the way to go in a recession. It’s durable, you can keep it on your desk and it’s a reminder that we mean business. Plus, think about it, Tony, when was the last time you immediately threw away a brochure or a magazine? Or a business card for that matter! Never, that’s when! It’s not like an email that gets deleted in two seconds.”
Tony: “You know what, Paulie? You’re right. Print is an important part of our marketing mix. I think we should invest more in it.”
Paulie: “You’re damn right, Tony. And I know just the guy to do it. The guy that prints our flyers, remember him? He’s got connections, he can get us a deal on some high-quality paper, and we can make sure our message is heard loud and clear.”
Tony: “Alright, Paulie. You take care of it. But no clowns or dancing girls on the flyers. We’re not running a circus here.”
Paulie: “Don’t worry, Tony. Leave it to me. I’ll make sure we get offers that we can’t refuse!”
Tony: “Alright, let’s get back to business. I got a meeting with our friends across the river.”
Paulie: “You got it, Tony.”
And with that, Tony and Paulie went back to business knowing that a good old-fashioned print would help them make their message heard loud and clear.
