Whether you’re speaking at an event, going networking at a breakfast meeting, or exhibiting at a show there’s one piece of equipment you simply can’t overlook – the roller banner.
Starting from around £100, a roller banner is a brilliant marketing tool and can be quickly designed and printed right here from our roller banner shop.
But there’s a real problem with roller banners and since we got back into networking we’ve noticed it. At nearly all networking meetings we’ve been to recently, the roller banners aren’t in the room!
As great as roller banners are, they’re no use whatsoever in your garage or your house and they’re also totally useless in your boot! We don’t understand why you’d drive a roller banner to and from a networking meeting and not get it out, put it up and get hours of marketing out of it.
We think it’s cruel not to let your roller banner live its life’s destiny and stand proudly with you at events. We think you’re cruel condemning it to a life in the boot of your car with the de-icer and your spare shoes!
No one is looking in your boot
It’s really quite simple, when you go network, head to an event, or speak at a conference and you leave your banner in the boot, it does precisely NOTHING for you.
No one leaves the event and heads to your boot, do they?
No one from the event requests time with you in the boot of your car, do they?
No, so why did you leave it in there? It’s going to be seen by zero people and do your business no favours. What a waste!
The networking meetings offer subliminal marketing opportunities
Roller banners are the silent marketeer in the room. As they stand to attention quietly they’re sending subliminal marketing messages to anyone allowing their eyes to wander around the room and getting your brand, logo, message and services noticed.
They’re the silent sales heroes, the supportive cheerleaders, the backbone of your branding on the road… and you left it in the boot?! Madness. Take it out, roll it up and let it do what it was designed to do!
Photos offer extra market if you have your banner up
At most of the networking meetings we’ve visited this year there have been photos taken. Whether it’s professional shots or simple smartphone snaps for social media, loads of photos get taken during networking meetings.
Guess how many photos your brand will appear in if you leave your roller banner in the boot of your car? You got it – ZERO!
Why would you miss out on 100’s if not 1000’s or more people seeing your brand over and over again? We’ve seen some photos from a performer shared recently that feature him speaking at a networking event in 2015 and behind him is someone else’s banner.
Great exposure for the owner of that banner… THREE YEARS ON.
(Others left theirs in the boot!)
Photos offer extra market if you have your banner up
Generally speaking, a roller banner should display just a few of your products/services but always your contact information. Your phone number, your email address, website, and of course your chosen social media.
We’ve also seen networkers taking photos of roller banners on their phones instead of taking a business card. Although this will never replace the business card (we feel) it is rather more powerful. Think about it: how many times do you scroll through your photos over the numbers of times you look through business cards you’ve collected? Powerful, right?
Left it in the boot? Ah… never mind, eh?
Get your banner behind the speaker
Just like our example about the performer who shared a three-year-old photo, you should aim to be behind the speakers for two reasons:
- Everyone looks in the direction of the speaker.
- Photos of the speaker are shared on social media.
It’s a no brainer to get your logo behind one of the key parts of an event if you can and the power of this is purely subliminal again. Branding is about touchpoints and getting your logo and brand out to as many people as many times as you can is to be encouraged.
Left your banner in the boot? Well, that won’t happen then!
Your banner in your boot is costing fuel to transport – make it earn its crust
Ask any motoring fan and you’ll soon hear about the benefits of a lighter vehicle for faster speed. This works for economy too. Inflate your tyres correctly and remove the crap from your boot and you’ll save cash.
Just driving your roller banner around is costing you money, not earning it – so take it out (at meetings!). It won’t save your fuel economy much because they’re lightweight anyway, but you might as well get your money back and use the banner to earn you leads!
Left it in your boot? It costs you money and earned you nowt. Whoops!
They’re light and really easy to assemble – just take it in!
What’s the excuse? Really? We can’t find one.
- Roller banners are light
- They’re easy to assemble
- They’re super marketing tools
- They live on, on social media
- They’re shared over and over again
- They more visual and great background ‘noise’
- And they’re so much better in the room than in your boot!
Give your old habit the boot – take your roller banner to meetings (every one of them!). Let them fulfil their prophecy and help you market your business and stand out at events.
Stop leaving them behind with the de-icer and the spare wheel!
We’re going to start a campaign about this – FREE THE ROLLER BANNER (or something similar). Let us know if you’re on board by sending us photos of your roller banner out and about and having fun! Tweet us at @RPrintWarwick or leave a post on our Facebook page.
